UK Rwandans bid farewell to Ambassador Gatete.
Rwandan Community in the UK on Saturday December 5th 2009, bid farewell to Ambassador Claver Gatete, who has been Rwanda’s Ambassador (now High Commissioner) to the UK for the last four years.
The High Commissioner highlighted some of the achievements during his tenure, as the renovation of ‘Rwanda House’ (Embassy building), increase in Embassy staffing and the services they deliver, mobilisation of Rwandans to play a role in their country’s development including organisation of two investment conferences and expos, and many others. He said that the most important achievement is Rwanda’s joining of the Commonwealth, in which the Embassy played a big part.

The event was attended by Rwandans, Ambassador Gatete and his wife Jeanne, Embassy staff and many friends of Rwanda.
It was an emotional event for members of our community, Ambassador Gatete and his family, because they had become part of our community!
